This past month at Antique Warehouse we have been working on getting everything on our shelves inventoried. While some of the items we have on our shelves are already part of our inventory as well as our online collection, most of what we have is not included in either of these. It is also important to note that although we do have a majority of our collection on display, there is a large number of items not on display. With so many items it is hard to have everything cataloged. We now have images and information from everything on our shelves. Now all we have to do is get this information into the computer. We tried to find out as much about each piece as we could. At the very least we have a size and weight for everything, as well as what the item actually is. However, many of the items have more information such as serial numbers, model numbers, patent numbers and patent dates. Eventually, all this will add up to a more complete website with more information and better images of our items. Cataloging these items allows us to preserve the history of each piece so that all may share and learn the significance of each item. Below are just a few images of the many shelves in our main warehouse. You may recognize a few of the items as they are in our collection, but others may be new to you. Eventually, all of these items will be available to view on this web site. |
