description: Deco-style, Koken wall pole with six-sided colored glass geometric panels, with decorative porcelain cap & base. Koken No. 140 Bracket Pole: Illuminated barber pole made of cast iron and porcelain enamel with aluminum frames holding red and white glass. A wall mount bracket type, single interior lamp. information: This style of stained glass pole was manufactured in this (regular) style, a long wall model, and a freestanding column model. Most of the models were made in (shown) aluminum or a similar zinc, but a few were cast in the more expensive and rare bronze. In daylight of after dark, the illuminated Barber's Pole is the best possible sign, generally used in pairs at the entrance to a barber shop. The colors are bright and readily attract attention. |
