Generally speaking, there are roughly 25 different colors of antique glass lightning rod balls. Today, you can have just about any color made as a reproduction. There are many sources on the number of colors, so the exact number of colors is around 25 (some consider one color to be a variation of another). However an infinite number of shades are possible, due to the way glass is made, much like a recipe, all of the ingredients added may vary from one batch to another. For example, one of our balls is considered a Grey Milk Glass, while that is not on the standard list below, it is considered a different shade of WMG. Amber, Blue Milk Glass (BMG), Clear, Cobalt Blue, Forest Green, Gold, Grey Green Transparent, Green Milk Glass (GMG), Green Transparent, Mercurized Balls (Silver and Gold), Olive Green, Orange Milk Glass (OMG), Pink, Cased Red, Flashed Red, Red, Red with Amber, Rust Orange Milk Glass, Silver, Sun Colored Amethyst (SCA), Sun Colored Amethyst White Milk Glass (SCA WMG), Teal, White Milk Glass (WMG) and Yellow. |
