June 2010 |
June 21st, the first day of summer, is fast approaching and bringing along with it the most daylight hours of the year. Car cruising comes to mind as a great American summer past time. Leading the pack are the monthly Memories Car Club Cruises held the first Friday night of the month. Car enthusiasts from all walks of life enjoy this colorful event that features classic cars to rat rods. A food court, anchored by the Fenton Lion’s Club, provides tasty bar-b-q and goodies from the Life Christian Church youth groups. Enjoy music from the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s, a 50/50 drawing, attendance prizes and a play area for the kids. Also this month, we have our sights set on the inaugural Car Cruise at the Museum of Transportation on July 16, 2010. Attendance to the Car Cruise is free and the museum will be open late. Admission to the museum is $5 bucks and includes unlimited train rides. An added attraction, with paid admission, is the Route 66 Exhibit in the Earl C. Lindberg Automotive building. Be sure to arrive early as this event will fill up quickly! See our Events Calendar for details.
